BE BAD ASS EVERY DAY!!!!

I have been absent for awhile now, trying to grasp a hold on my life and not letting it get the best of me!!!   I have read plenty of life affirmations and positive mottos, but this one hit home for me!   Plain & Simple!!!!!

The Unveiling!!!

 Here she is, the unveiling of the first "Family Crest".....................

 I used all vintage pieces, including a pearl safety pin from my Nana, vintage buttons, baby buttons, a german china doll, vintage lace, tiny cupcake ballerina, pom poms and more.

 I am not sure, but I want to frame these.   I am thinking of cutting them out and backing them in velvet or some kind of bark cloth, what do you think?    Help, I need ideas!!!

I am in the mood.........

I am in the mood to create something fabulous and I am not sure what to do, so I took some pictures of some of my very favorite "Doo Dads"..... that I never know what to do with and decided to add them to a handmade "Family Crest" if you will.   I looked up my last name to see if there was a "Family Crest" somewhere in my past and sadly there was none.  I looked for a "Coat of Arms".....and sadly there was none!   So......I am making my own and adding all of my favorite "Doo Dads" that make me happy when I hold them and touch them and adore them.....and never know what to do with them.  

I have hand drawn my own family crest on a piece of fabric about 16 x 11, then outlined it with embroidery and sewed on a broken piece of vintage rhinestone necklace.   I am thinking of framing them when I am thru.   I will have to make 2 of them though, because I have two girls and I want them both to have one, after I am gone.    A family heirloom if you will.

This is my first attempt at embroidery stitching so it looks a bit child-like, but I actually kind of like it.    I always over-critique my work and then I look at it a few months later and think, "Oh, that wasn't half bad"!   I think because we know of the mistakes we make and we see them, while others do not.   

I created my stitching with 3x3 squares instead of 1x1 so I could fit more into a square.

  My lil paint pallet that I cannot seem to turn upright....

  My lil blue-gray bird of happiness, with a lil gray wisdom..............

 I grew up in Tucson, Arizona and I luv the Sahuaro Cactus..........

 What girl does not want to live in a castle with lil pink curtains...................

 I adore anything with cherries, ala cherry pie, cherry coke, cherry drinks, cherry jello, vintage cherry jewelry, vintage cherry linens, just plain ol' cherries....................

 My lil vase of flowers that I used to always draw as a kid ... and a symbol of our family vacation to Hawaii.................

  I luv a good rain and a darling umbella.............

 My lil bees that I used to draw as a kid, kite flying and of course my age......to show when I made this little heirloom...........  I will keep you posted as I keep going!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lovely little clothespin bag!!

I fell in love with this lovely little vintage clothespin bag.   I did not know what I was going to do with it, but I knew I had to have it and wanted to use it someway or another, so...................

I hung it on my bathroom wall and clipped my sweet little blingy hair pins on it and now they are away from the rest of the ordinary hair clips and told my girls, NO TOUCHY!!!!!!
